Crafting an actor resume that stands out in a sea of talent is about as crucial as nailing that monologue you've been practicing in the shower. ๐Ÿ›€  You want to somehow standout from the crowd though right?

Don’t go overboard and get kitschy with emojis or unnecessary images.  Below are 6 easy resume tips [with examples] that can spice up your resume, while still keeping it simple, easy to read, and especially still looking professional.

1. BOLD Words You Want To Stand Out

You finally got your first TV credit? Yeah!!!  List the network in all caps and bolded loud & proud baby!

2. Add a Link To Your Website or Online Profile

Add a link to your personal website.  And/or a link to your on-line acting profile (Actors Access, Casting Networks, etc…).  I recommend just picking one on-line profile, not all of them, no need to overwhelm.  If the link is very long or complicated shorten it by using an online URL shortener.

3. “Have Passport - Will Travel”

In your special skills section list if you have a valid passport (my manager requested that I include the expiration date).

Valid US Passport (ex 2028)

4. Add Your Headshot to Hard-copy

Add a small image in the corner of the header of your hard-copy resume.

5. Worked With An “A-List” Name?

If you have worked with a well-known actor, list their name in parenthesis next to your credit.  I’ve been fortunate enough to work with several Oscar winning actors, but in films most people don’t recognize by name.  By adding the A-List actor names that I was in scenes with it adds a little je ne sais quoi and credibility to my resume and those specific credits.

6. List Film Festival Screenings/Awards

If any of your films (even a small student film) screened at a film festival, add that in parenthesis next to that credit.  If your film was at more than one festival choose the most prominent well-known one.  If an award was received you can list that as well.
